We have a Doctor with supplies ready to go, she is having trouble finding a way back after a few weeks there to help with people's medical problems. No fuel to fly back.
I don't know if DE sent any medical team to PR. I remember we did during Katrina. I worked for a hospital back then and they assembled a medical team to head to LA.

They need water, fuel, and food. We don't allow foreign flagged vessels to deliver such things without a waiver and one hasn't been granted for Maria. That said, I suspect one of the reasons is that they haven't been able to move things out of the ports due to lack of air support, which is supposed to be on the way. Waivers were issued for all three FL, TX, and PR in the wake of Harvey and Irma--but the difference is that there was aerial support to handle it. So right now it looks like they need more aerial support, which can only get there in a C-5 or C-17 and the airports have limited capacity right now. And once aerial support gets there they need aviation fuel which is not stacked up in the ports. So basically, we have to move both aircraft and fuel to solve the problem. ARG:he
Thank you, that is exactly the problem. Asked DH the other night why we can't just send aviation fuel by tanker ships?

@rjohns39 You better start making a list for the meet up menu.

Special requirements:
1. GF
2. Zero bell peppers (you might have to limit this to one dish though..how does one cook with zero bell peppers?)
3. A little bit of chocolate
4. A lot of salsa
5.

I usually make things with less peppers, or cook them in a separate pan. If I have to have bell peppers in something, I'll use like half or a quarter. It helps, but doesn't totally take care of the problem.

Come on down:highfive: I've got 7 or 8 quarts of homemade fire roasted salsa in the pantry from a few weeks ago. Everyone says its too hot for them. I had a lot of fresh peppers:celebrate

Too hot. :lau
Sounds like a challenge @KikisGirls ! I love a good salsa.

Leo, at El Ranchero in LaPorte, makes a Salsa Especial. Grilled Jalapenos smashed up and put in a bowl. Very nice dipping sauce. Killer on enchiladas.:thumbsup

Did you know grilling jalapenos make them kind of sweet? I wonder if the extra chipolte I put in could have had anything to do with it--but it didn't seem too hot for me?:drool:confused:

I keep these on hand.

DH dared a young child to eat one raw..off the plant..before he could tell the kid he was joking said kid was chewing.
Kid reminds his dad how mean that was on a regular basis.
