I wouldn't know if this is true or not.

Is this doc on Netflix?

I often find that site pretty spot on. Movies, well some anyway, tend to over exaggerate--that said they can get pretty wild sometimes.:woot

I have heard of people, here on BYC mentioning to get the Amish to help build coops or get the Amish to help with this or that.
We have Mexicans for that down here.

The Amish are old world Master Craftsmen and they do beautiful work, even though you would never find one of those beautiful pieces in their homes. It took two years, pretty much every weekend chatting with a craftsman in Indiana and he finally invited me to his wood shop to watch him work. Now I'm a pretty good woodworker but not anywhere near where those guys are. I learned more over the course of a few weekends then I'd ever learned, I'm still not skilled at "reading the wood" as he would call it... And if you've ever used a router, imagine cutting a roman OG into Hard white maple, with a hand forged, hand plane. If you can't tell, I find it amazing stuff and that was nearly 40 years ago.:old

Good question! I'll ask the hubby. I can't seem to find the right one on bing or google...it keeps coming up with fictional versions...the one I watched was very much reality tv. The ran the gamut of the process and even did interviews with the ones who chose to convert to "English" and then how they were ousted from the community.

When I was single, most of my furniture came from the Amish. I bought it unfinished and then finished it myself with stain/varnish. It looks great 20 years later. Not that Ikea is bad but some of my hubby's Ikea stuff is ready for the dump.

Teach you to take a day off.
Had no choice, daughter was complaining of "tasting blood in the back of her throat", was in the emergency department until 2am. She is fine, they couldn't find anything wrong, and we made them look, (2 critical care RN's for parents LOL), So she is home today catching up with school work. (hum! I wonder?). Really she is a good girl. and if she thought this fake, if it was, was a good idea, I am sure she changed her mind when we insisted they shove a tube up her nose so they could check for blood in her stomach. LOL

So sorry to hear that, really glad you are part of our little group.

took 20 minutes to read the 8 pages to catch up love being in out little thread here

Something in chocolate makes you feel loved. Should be a requirement for everyone, the base of the pyramid. Could replace all antidepressants. Sure Big Pharma would just love that!!!

the spice of life CHOCOLATE :bow:celebrate

Hope you have a great weekend, oh, and good luck catching up after they leave. I missed one day and it has taken me most of a day to read and place my input into this thread.

still need to clean my chickens

No way the Amish could survive our heat without electricity.
