Grandson or neighbor kid I missed the original post. Funny how the kindness and gentile teaching of others affects your life as you are older. I still remember a neighbor across the street (she had grandkids and I was little) showing me how to plant things and take care of a garden. I think of her every time I plant something

My parents were not gardeners. I loved being able to help her poke seeds and the ground and those turn into plants over the summer and she always cooked me samples of what those seeds grew--I didn't like okra then (do now). She was and is always a huge influence in my life. I'm certain she would like that but she was in her late 70's in the early 1960's. I can't go back and tell her.

I had a teacher after we moved from Wisconsin to Washington there was a "new math" I was befuddled well kids here had it for 3 years... she talked to my Ma kept me after school for a week to teach me then drove me home every day that week graduated at 16 in college and graduated at 19

Neighbor kid,he's over here at least twice a week since my zoo is visible from their yard. He's a smart little fella watches for me to pull the wheelbarrow around the house and knows im about to do the coop and I'm going to need my bucket holder. He just dumps those chicken turds like it's the most important job in the world. If he keeps that enthusiasm he's going to be a fine man when he grows up. :)

I think it is perfect and he feels like he is a help and likes what he is doing more power to both of you

Sorry for the late reply... I was Supply Logistics.

ETA: I was also a Dorm Manager for about a year, and had 4 years of volunteering at the base level Honor Guard between both Hanscom AFB and Fairchild AFB.
I was a maintainer and spent my last six months in contracting.
