Had a funeral this weekend and then cooked a turkey for lunch today with all the fixings.
You all are my relief today.

Sorry to hear about the funeral. Hope you are doing OK.

Tell us more about the Turkey. It's almost time to eat here. We want all the juicy details! Preferably with samplers.

With turkey, which isn't my favorite, we have stuffing, green bean casserole - still trying to find a dairy free, gluten free recipe, if anyone has one they recommend :pop and cranberry sauce (where did I put that one homemade one that was just posted????) and cranberry salad.

Does anyone else call the Preacher's nose a Preacher's nose? MIL wanted that piece and I asked her why. She said she liked it and didn't understand why I called it that. Then almost choked laughing. Funny how you grow up with things and don't realize the rest of the world is weird.

Thank you...daughters lost their bonus dad. He was only 61 years young.
Put celery, carrots and onions in the cavity, herb butter under the skin, oiled the skin with olive oil and dusted with salt and pepper. Slow roasted on a roaster with homemade chicken broth. Herbed cornbread stuffing. Giblet gravy and gelled cranberries. Garlic mashed potatoes, home made yeast rolls, green peas and pearl onions. Mixed salad and pumpkin spice cake. Usually make candied sweet potatoes and pecan pie....didn't have time.
Not bad for a one handed cook....stitches come out Wednesday.

okay so feather, duster, dirt and grime
cooking dinner back later did buy new flannel pj's at Costco
ladies with POCKETS and a draw string

I think flannel nighties are sexy! <wink, wink>

Told Crazy Lady and she suggested Dirty & Hairy. She is sharp, that one.

@NanaKat please explain what a bonus dad is. I'm not sure how to respond.

The one-handed feast you laid out sounds wonderful! I'll give you a hand for all that!:clap

Is the Preacher's nose the part that goes over the fence last? Cause that's what we used to call it, the part that goes over the fence last and it and the neck were my grandmother's favorite pieces. LOL

Sending thoughts and prayers your way, for both you and your daughters. So sorry for all of you. :hugs
