Yuck! I hate possums! I think I have one getting into my chicken tractor in the late afternoon, early evening. The chickens go to roost in the other coop and in the rafters of the barn, so something is getting the eggs then. They are usually all broken and some of the yolks eaten, but not all. It's a real mess. The eggs in the big coop aren't touched. I can't collect until around 10 or so in the evening on the days I work late. I do try to collect as many as I can before leaving, but it's not always possible if there are several hens in line to lay. If I get them early enough, I don't usually have the problem. DH says he's going to put our game camera out there to see what's doing it and plan accordingly. This means deciding which weapon he's going to use to dispatch the thief

I am sure this buck contributed to some lovely fawns on the property. Why remove an animal that contributes to keeping wonderful beauty and good healthy food on the property.
