Hurricane Advice

I live in a swamp and am surrounded by water too! Especially when it rains a lot. :p

Been in the yard honing my ditch digging, flood control and water management skills. Trying to get the yard to drain AROUND the house. :barnie

So think of me while you are shoveling all that hard water. Yours stays put and you can pile it up for a few months. Mine rolls down hill. Wish I had a hill.

Nice sunny day in the sixties today. This is after lows in the teens earlier this week. The chickens, cats and dog were having a blast in the warm sunlight today. My three kittens that were born in the coop back in July are six months old now. I had two of the spayed yesterday, and they're in the front bathroom now. I'll have to post pictures. They are so pretty! AND, I don't have to worry about getting anymore from them! I've got one left to get fixed, then we're good to go. Costs money, so I had to space them out.

But other than us lamenting about the weather occasionally, we got severely off topic. I figured @DwayneNLiz would mention something about the artic blasts, but guessing they were over rated. Snow is snow. Some worse than others. This is why we buy houses. Stay indoors and play on the internet with a lot of strange people.

@theuglyduckling - any update on your island? Power? Food deliveries? Mostly back to normal?

Houston is rebuilding. Contractors will have a good year. The freezes have been a boon to plumbers of late. Followed by contractors to get the sheet rock back to pretty. Housing market is good.

Things here are pretty much the same as the last time i posted...i think? The water for me and people around me i think have it but there are others who still dont and people who have water the water is still not clean to drink so most buy bottled water if they can afford it. Power is still out by me and other parts of my city. It is the same for other cities too some have some dont. The stores in my cities have food but i dont know about the other cities. I know the people in the mountains still need food and water delivered to them. The housing here is not much better than how it was after the storm. Most people who had gotten blue tarps still have blue tarps on their roofs and people who need blue tarps still need blue tatps and have yet to recieve any. The army is still here and in my city they are stationed at the stadium but to be honest i havent seen them doing much and i am not trying to talk down on them it is just my observation. Aand as to the power being fixed they are working on it slowly but surely. I dont think i will be getting light any time soon because my electrical wire is split in half a clean cut. I need to upload those pictures when i get a chance.

Dwaynenliz do you live in alaska or something? :D

Naw, @DwayneNLiz lives near the artic and @BantyChooks . Alaska is all the way on the other side of the states. Can you believe that they can't grow bananas?

Banty calls everyone southies since everyone lives south of her. I'm working on a theory that she is really Mrs. Claus. Or maybe an elf. Probably an elf since she is short like Liz. Oh wow! Banty and Liz are elves and Santa Claus and the elves keep chickens! It all makes sense now.:yesss:

here it is not frozen
