Does the whole Buttom higher than head thing work, or were you kidding? I am afraid of needles and I really don't want to do the acupuncture thing but if its the only way I'll do it for my little one.

Its supposed to work and does for some folk, I piled up cushions and lay over them.

The moxibustion doesn't use needles - they burn stuff near your feet - hot enough that you can feel it, but it doesn't hurt. the acupuncture needles don't really hurt either, I've had it done often.

Thank you thank you all !!!

I have another appointment with my DR next Tuesday, she's fresh out of college and personally I don't like the way she looks at me. She's always happy and she likes to rub the jell off of me, I don't know why she doesn't let me do it. I think I am going to have my best friend Trisha go with me to hear what the DR has to say I've always confided in Trisha for advice. This DR was told to me by my aunt. I really don't know what to think of her and I don't know of anyone else I could switch to. I don't know whats going to happen with the C-section cause she also said that it might be a good idea to do it that way to because of my shunt.

will the shunt be an issue with the delivery or am I getting bad advice?

I am 22 weeks next tuesday I think! and I read to my little one every night. I am hoping for a boy the first time and a girl the second but whatever the Lord gives me will be a blessing and I will love him or her. I read Little Red Ridding Hood last night I think I am going to read Aladdin or a disney story tonight. I am a BIG disney freak the best movies ever made from disney are The Little Mermaid and Brother Bear!!

What's the Shunt for/what type, Becky? If you want me to do some research for you I'd be glad to as far as options, typical treatments during pregnancy, etc.

Feel free to PM if you don't want to list the details here.

AND - get a second opinion for sure.

I was told I'd have to have another c-section for my second baby (first was the footling breech - delivered emergency style!

I went ahead and had the second baby at home! So much for HAVE TO HAVE another c-section!

If you don't particularly LIKE your doctor - CHANGE NOW. Trust your instinct and move on.

arlee453 : its no big deal i don't care who knows. I have a shunt that drains the liquid from my brain to my stomach cause i wasn't born with one due to my mom using paint that harmed me inside her as she worked for the forest service and marked trees.
I was given the shunt at age three cause it wasn't til then that the doctors around my parents area decided to confide in the specialist in Pittsburgh. They said to lifeflight me down there and they did, they cut me open stuck it in and I've had the same shunt for 15years. I was told my last check up witch was awhile ago the shunt was doing good, by my favorite doctor aka my nero surgen DR. P !! I didn't ask him about the baby thing due to timing cause he looked at me talked for two minutes and left for surgery.
