Husband wanted to help...

I had a 50lbs of black oil sunflower seeds and it just bothers him when i have stuff around that might not look too neat,

so he helped out by putting some of the seeds in a tub and a bucket of floor cleaner. yes i said floor cleaner! i opened it this morning and i got a big whiff of it.

5 gallons of seeds that are no longer good.

It sounds like you should send him shopping for an appropriate container. That's too bad about the waste. Don't you wonder what people are thinking, sometimes? At least you found it before he tried to help by feeding it to them!

My husband is a pretty smart guy, but I have a story or two I'm thinking of right now...

yes i am glad i found it before he fed them, and he did move it yesterday so i would use that first.
I don't want to sound mean but i have told him since he didn't want to have anything to do with the chickens before i even had them and he does not try to sell eggs or collect cartons for me i have told him the only thing i want him to do when it come to my flock is what i ask him and to please to it my way. of course that never works
