I will be getting a husky this winter. :wee:wee
My mom had a husky that was great with rabbits, cats, birds, etc... He would save cats and was very well trained.

I will be having goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and a cow so I guess we will see how he does with livestock. :)

I am hopeful for a puppy but we will see what works best. Might get a full grown pup.

I will be getting a male... And I already have names picked. :D

Names-
Most of blue
Bunny back up
Gunners runner
Mist of cascadia
Crystal Ray Charles (a name I heard a while back and have loved ever since).
Shadow of star dust
I got a few more but your probably getting the theme now. :p

I plan on training for ski jorring. :)

I have had 3 Huskies, they are beautiful but will kill chickens if they can, I was free ranging my chickens when my wife took our 4 year old Husky Maya out for a walk and as soon as she spotted the chickens she pulled the leash away and killed two and injured another before I could catch her, she had been around these chickens while they were in their pen for years and seemed ok around them but attacked the first time she had the chance.

huskies, as a rule, are not good with livestock and other smaller animals. They are simply bred with an extremely high prey drive. And they aren't a dog that you can leave outside in a fenced yard because they are born to run. It's not a matter of exercise. They are simply a more primitive breed and while incredibly intelligent they rarely have a desire to work closely with humans. It's simply against their nature.
They are definitely a "what's in it for me" "why should I listen to you" breed of dog.
