hy-line browns where can you buy them?

With corn selling for $6.00 a bu. And soymeal at $340.00 a ton feed conversion is more important then those last 20 eggs to a commercial operator ....

But if the commercial operator has the money...

A farmer is out to make money. Now they are are getting about 80 cents a doz. That is a tight margin

I'm not sure because I haven't found info on the Hi-Lines. I do know that the ISA browns are much more popular here and in Europe .

A million bird operation uses about 250,000# of feed a day.Use your feed price and see how much profit is left.

But cost of eggs around here are about $3 a dozen so (does math) around 17000 and about 800,000-900,000 eggs a day, good profit. But the stores probably only buy the eggs for $1 a dozen so still good money

Any update ??

I hope a response is forthcoming, but it doesn't appear that it is. Normally, in the business world, one gets a response relatively quickly, or.... as previous posters mentioned, no response comes at all. The intended market for most of the commercial birds is the large agri-business enterprises and there isn't likely a retail outlet or mechanism that even exists.

I, for one, will be ordering some ISA Browns from TownLine, come spring. The ISA isn't for everyone, but it is the world's record holder in most laying categories for brown eggs.
