Awwweee

Those poor babies they must have been much happier after they got cared for. once in a while one of my males gets a bit rough when he’s “really feeling it” But mine never looked like that, maybe a few missing feathers on the back of the head.
I have this one male his name is Taco (that’s another long story) but there was a fight I had to separate these two boys that came of age and the one was like scalped, that was Taco, before his name was Taco anyway. But the short of it is it basically saved his life because there was supposed to be a Taco festival that weekend and it was cancelled (for the third time ) so the scalped one got named Taco lol ans because he got named and I felt bad for him getting so beat up he became the breeder roo of that pen and his agressor went into the freezer.... and Taco is a pretty good roo, he healed so fast it’s amazing these guys they heal so quick, humans should bottle that up somehow and use whatever they have that power heals their wounds! You can’t even tell he was totally scalped there is no scar - nothing.
Now I knew they would fight and I had been keeping an eye for it they had been getting on well and I was waiting on my new pen to arrive to separate them anyway and I swear you turn your back thinking everything is fine and the next minute it ain’t fine at all!
So yeah I kept Taco and well the other was dinner but I had also read that you really shouldn’t breed the ones that are super aggressive anyway because you don’t want to keep that aggressiveness going, I mean you can’t get rid of it totally but I guess I read you can lessen it by not breeding those birds if possible.
So that’s how Taco became Taco after he was scalped and now all the ladies love him I tell him when I add a new hen (well this was last summer) I say Taco you have to say hello first you can’t just oh.. oh nvm...oh... getting to knowwww youuuuu
He doesn’t waste one second. Then there is Cujo he’s a bit more laid back. Those are my main men.
There is Phoenix my son claimed that one so I’m stuck with him even though he’s a bit small. He’s got some red in him. Every time I would “cull” my son would say “you didn’t kill Phoenix did you?” No ... not yet... jk! Lol!
I think I have some Texas males but I’ve no idea and since it’s winter and no one feels like bumping uglies no one is fighting or crowing so *shrug* no clue. I think Phoenix has a few Texas boyfriends in his pen. That’s a mixed pen of weirdos...
I like to name the males that are breeders and Mark their leg with a band so I don’t accidentally eat them... one time I was doing a big culling and I looked down and noticed a leg band *oopsie* that was “Little Foot” and I didn’t notice the band til...after lol
So I’ll get this new big pen and that will House a ton of them and then I’ll have my brown meat birds and eggs from them that should work well... and then I can mess about with the silvers and whatever I get from this batch in the bator in...8 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
