Ahh differwnt peraonalities would make sense some being sweeter than others... hummm...

When i mentioned the blue quail eggs to her she was kinda intrigued and i think collecting her own eggs in her room she would enjoy. Maybe itd hamper her parrot ideas if i explained she wouldnt collect eggs like a chicken or quail:lau

:fl that the celadon works

Yes we dont wanna see any runts in de food ;) im already anticipating my first eggs  its gonna be a Long wait as theyre nit evem hatched :lau

I do love gardening! I dont have any usuable plot outside becuz u kno the chooks destroy it all  but i have two peace lilys ive had for 5 years, a ficus ive had for 3 yrs, and some other misc house plants. Where i really do my gardening is UnderWater

:D in my fishtank :D

Ive just kicked off my first tank since the 90 crashed in the flood. Back in Oct i set up my 29 and it has Angel fish and a slew of plants that im growing out to redo the 90.

My Grandma had the most incredible green thumb and i was lucky enough to inherit it :love

I have one hen heterozygous for celadon right now. Been holding on to her just debating about how much work it will be to get it to express (a lot) in future generations. I lucked out on her mom from local farmer but then she got eaten :hit

Well im sorry :hugs at least you know from a very reliable source that you probly better order more :( what part of the world do u hail from?

Did she get eaten by a predator or a person? Just curious lol... I lost a good roo by snake...not that roos are hard to come by but I liked him.

But it was so weird cause see I had just gotten into quail and here I am staring at this dead rooster (one of my largest of course!) thinking what.the.heck!!!!!!

He’s covered in SNOT! He died instantly from snot!?? Omg! We have a horrible snot spreading virus that will kill everyone in one afternoon! He drowned in his own snot!

But I thought no way... this can’t be - no one else is sick....

So I go over camera footage and I go over it again and again!!! Then I finally see it... big black snake crept into the pen and tried to swallow him whole. Gave up and left.

We put down the special snake stuff he never came back. My husband works in pest control and it worked lol

So that’s why I asked. I never saw this until I got smaller birds (quail) my hens would have killed that snake in 3 seconds flat. I’ve seen them chase squirrels

Lovely fish tank!!! We used to have a biocube I think I mentioned earlier it was just about the 30 gallon size and we had custom LED light set created for the top, everything went quite well for a long long time my husband was on top of it changing water doing tests, it was saltwater, just a hobby, at one point we had a gorgeous pair of black ice clown fish they were so cool. Over the years though fish came and went as they do, saltwater can be annoying like that, one minute a fish is fine the next minute he’s gone never to be seen again :(

We had a few left for a really long time til one day we have no idea what happened but some ugly bubble algae took over and no amount of shrimps or clean up crew or water changing or removal would get rid of it all. Eventually even the coral gave up on life and we let it try to grow back for a long time but it never did it would require a whole new set up so we decided it was time to let it go, and used the rocks for decoration in the back yard lol I was sad to see it go but I guess it had run it’s course and there wasn’t much left we could do to save it.

Would like to try again since we did really well with it for so long but not ready for that added expense right now and I’m all about the quail LOL tanks are so much fun though I could look at that tank for ages and people who came by always thought it was cool.

Anyway guess what?

Just ordered 20 Schofield Silver eggs (not sure I spelled that correctly off the top of my head) from KC farm. The woman who runs it is super nice and helpful. She replied straight away so I went ahead and put in an a small order for the silver collection and I’ll put those in the small incubator.

Yeehaw! Lol!

That is WILD! I love our cameras, we catch all sorts of nutty things too. Sorry about your roo though :(

Unfortunately she was a victim of The Great Bear Feast, after which I had to rebuild from eggs only. I incubated three blue eggs, but only one hatched.

Congrats on the eggs!!! KC is where I am putting my next order in too (down the road at least a few months I swear ) so glad to hear your experience has been good so far.

Yeee Haw InDeed! Thats exciting! :clap:ya:pop

Id sure like the salt tanks but theres no way i could put that sort of $ into a tank either. The birds are livestock and that difference is why im allowed to go slightly overboard. I collected the pecans out the yard n sold them for the cash to get the plants in the fishtank :gigmaybe in 10 years we'll still be friends and finally able to set up salt tanks simultaneously 600 miles from one another :D but for now we gotta raise the humans

Im sorry you got that algae infestation i know what its like to have a loved tank crash :hugs

Id rather not allow Any other pet but i told the girl she could keep a bird inside IF she took directions and did all the work behind refinishing a very old wire pet bird cage. Well shes worked on it twice and im thinkn she may actually do it so im tryn to figure out what im gonna do if she accomplishes it.

It was you who said KC and so I did email like you suggested and yeah it worked out well :) I will order another batch later on a mixed batch from her.

Yes we keep an outdoor camera - one of those Nest cams- so I can see all what’s going on out there! Ever since a neighbors husky kept jumping the fence and coming to my yard I put up the camera.

Long story short - both his dogs were in my yard my coop was busted open in a couple places and all 5 hens were gone, one dead inside and the rest they had chased for fun down to the creek (found chicken foot prints in the mud) but I could never recover the bodies. Guy came for the dogs and I said HEY! Wait! Your dogs killed ALL MY CHICKENS! And he sped away as fast as he could! What a jerk!

I was so sad I mean what was my big backyard now without the sounds of my hens and they had just started laying and they were trained to come when called (when I let them free range) I loved them. So we made repairs and I went and got new hens an hour away I picked out really pretty ones too.

So I figured this guy learned his lesson but he did not. So we set up a camera and the dog was back. We were awake so we chased it away. But eventually we had to sleep. It came back again, it broke in, it stole a hen and took her back to its house and left her (not injured just shocked) and the people did not even come tell me!! I followed the trail of feathers expecting to find her dead but she was not. I filed the 2nd police report. They wouldn’t answer the door not even for the police!!

Their family came and yelled at US! Forgot knocking on their door! Omg so stupid! How else am I to tell you your dog is running free AGAIN at 1am? Stupid stupid people.

Then the man took his dog and simply dropped it at a shelter because he couldn’t control it. It’s like why did you get that dog if you can’t care for it? He had like a 3 foot fence - yeah it’s gonna get out dummy!

I sent loads of letters to him asking for the money for the repairs and the hens he never responded so I sued him myself in small claims. I didn’t have a lawyer. By this time the claim was up to $750 his home owners insurance took the case and settled at the last minute I told them no less than $700 I think it was. Anyway I got my $ case closed.

So yeah now we have a better camera but I did catch that dog on camera and I had a load of evidence and his lawyer was like oh... yeah... ok guess you win. Lol. I had lots of receipts for repairs as well so there was no way out of it for them!

And that is the dog story. There have been others come around but not do an damage and lately it’s been rather calm.

Agreed I don’t want any more animals IN the house, just the parrots. Quail are different and chickens they serve a purpose you care for them they give you eggs and food ❤️

Yes saltwater is SO EXPENSIVE. Good lawd! We dumped a TON into that tank! But I just don’t have that kind of $ right now so yeah not doing it. But yes maybe someday we can both have nice saltwater tanks! They are so cool but yeah.. wow $$$$ lololol

So if she cleans up this cage and refurbished it she gets a bird eh? I still say quail
