I’m starting to hate my rabbits because of Craigslist people… Rant

Here is your new Craigslist ad:

Adorable mixed breed baby bunnies!! I have ____ (number of rabbits) looking for forever homes! (If they are friendly, say so here) They are 8 weeks old and ready to leave Mama. I have ___ and ___ (sexes). Please contact me if interested!

Now, you NEED to get good pics of the kits. In a basket, on the couch, none of this in the cage stuff. People HATE seeing that their outdoors or in wire bottom cages. Treat people with respect and let them know that you do care for your rabbits. Be excited and kind to them. It's the only way they will sell the way you are wanting them to.

They can get pregnant just after giving birth but that should have been learned after the second time is right.

I don't think that's the problem here though. Sounds like the OP is getting called out for repeatedly posting rabbits for sale online in their area...like if they are a irresponsible rabbit owner/backyard breeder.

I don't know though...I'm just assuming things based on what was said in the first post.
Thanks for explaining.
I started out by keeping it simple. 8 weeks is the age they have to be to sell or give away in NYS. They’re 8 weeks now. I state their age, sex, and how much I’m asking for them. When that post got flagged and I got hate emails left and right, and gave my address to two trolls, I changed to a more blunt post.

This is the post I put up after two weeks of trying to find homes for the second litter, posting a nice post and being called names.

8week old rabbits for sale

Don’t bother emailing me if:
You aren’t serious
You think I’m a breeder
You want to hate on me
You won’t email me back

Don’t waste my time and, more importantly, don’t waste the time of these baby rabbits. I’m looking for serious homes and by you trolling me potential good homes have passed by. So you have been the cause of loosing these rabbits a good loving forever home. I hope trolling me was worth that. These rabbits were not the product of over breeding or me trying to make a quick buck. These were an accident litter. The second one. If you don’t know anything about how fast rabbits breed then don’t email me asking how could I not know the doe was pregnant. Look it up before you hate on someone else’s animals. The adults were sexed as males and weren’t actually males. Obviously. We didn’t find out until after the first litter was three weeks. By then she was already pregnant again. With this litter.

So if you have made it this far then here is the information about these lovely babes. No they don’t come with a cage. No they don’t come with food. Yes they were raised with the parents. No I didn’t rip them away from the mother to sell them. I waited until they were fully weaned. They are eating pellets and hay. Asking $10 each to be sure you are going to keep them. If you think you can’t commit to keeping this baby rabbit then again don’t bother emailing me.

Sex:
There are three females (does) and five males (bucks). The pictures are labeled with an M and an F to tell you who is what.

I have a thread about this. I didn’t let them do anything. There is rabbit genitals in it. It isn’t allowed on Craigslist to give animals away for free. Those posts get flagged too.

I know right well you didn't mean to have kits and are trying to find them decent homes and I know you're very frustrated with this whole thing but as someone who's worked in marketing/pr for over 10 years, the wording in your ad just screams "unfriendly" and "sketchy" and no interested person in their right mind would do business with you. You're also leaving yourself wide open for trolls since they know they've gotten under your skin. Nothing attracts jackals like squalling.
Next ad, (after easter) state what you have, how they were weaned, what they eat now, their breed, sex and age. Explain they were 'oops bunnies' and Bunnies can breed right after they give birth so you ended up with two litters and the parents are now neutered (even if they aren't). If you can any flack, explain politely that all the information is on the ad and don't respond. Don't respond to people who don't understand. Always be professional, brief and polite. You know you haven't abused your Bunnies in any way so don't let it bother you. be thankful that there are people who don't let people get away with puppy mill type breeders, even if it's a thorn on your side right now. there's someone that sells chickens like this in my area and you can see the squalor she keeps them in.
Perhaps an ad in the paper or flyer at the post office or feed store, to try to cut down on the hecklers.

Some. Not all. Crsiglsit people suck behind. I will never sell chickens again on there, especially since people suck. Thise bad people ruin it for everyone and I’m really sorry this is happening to you, I’ll be praying for you and your anxiety ❤️

I like this idea. Also add that this was an accidental litter. Something like this-

I care so much for my bunnies, they bring so much joy to me and I hope they will for you as well. They live in a roomy ____ enclosure, with _____ and ____.
People like to see that you are keeping them in good living conditions, post photos of their setup as well.)
This was an accidental litter, and these sweet babies are up for adoption. The 10$ is an adoption fee to make sure they go to loving homes. If you have any concerns about my rabbits or these babies, feel free to contact me. I can assure you that this is not a breeding situation, and I have happy bunnies.

Or something like that.

I do have to agree that action should have been taken sooner though. I imagine its inevitable when you end up with different genders than expected, and sometimes we learn the hard way. I do urge you to learn from this though, and know in the future what will happen. They need to be seperated. If it is too stressful for you, there is no shame in surrendering them if it's better for you, and them. A rabbit rescue can make sure they go to loving homes, and you can always get rabbits again in the future when you are more prepared for them. Just my two cents.
