Do you not believe me, or do you think it's ok to force a woman, who's just had a baby, to clean her hospital room, before checking out. These were actual Swedes, posting on this comment board.

Royd, it's impossible to tell who anyone is on the internet. Those alleged Swedes could easily be right wingers portraying themselves as Swedes. Just like you could be a left winger trying to show how extreme right wingers are. Remember the Jetsons and their TV phones?

You gotta live somewhere Royd. If you don't want to pay taxes move somewhere that doesn't have taxes. Otherwise you gotta pay taxes and grumble about how they're spent. You look old enough to understand all that already though. The genie is out of the bottle as they say.

Safety had nothing to do with the train decision as you well know. Just the usual what's in it for me mentality. The train would have had a lot of benefits for the state and increased revenue from tourism which is what keeps Florida alive besides drugs and a lot of money from New York.

why does american indian children make the study invalid?
Were human too

Because the american indians don't represent the whole population. If you are going to have a study about Americans as a whole you need to pick children at random in america. How are we to know that there wasn't a genetic disease, or a cultural food that the american indians ate that made them obeise? You cannot call something a "scientific study" if you dont meet certain criteria. You must eliminate certain variables. And I did not say you were not human.

To put it simply. Its kinda like me saying Im doing a study about how many tacos americans eat. Then I take 1500 American Mexican children and count how many tacos they eat over 30 years. Then when the study is done I say well, Americans eat ___ many tacos! they need to stop eating so many tacos! Michelle Obama sais, dont eat tacos! Blah blah blah...Yea it might technically be American children but they are a certain group of american children who may have a underlying factor.

Anyways, Ive made my point and am done with this. Not wasting anymore time on that.

Sorry to anyone that I insulted yesterday. I am man enough to apologize and right my wrongs. When people feel very strongly about something sometimes they can be a bit brash and I feel I was. I think that me and the people I was "discussing" with may have more in common than anyone else lol. We may be on different sides of the line but both feel very strong about certain issues.

Lets try and keep civil so we can keep this thread open, I think it has been very enlightening to many people who are interested in knowing about american pride and such.

Oh, and I mostly agree with Royd. lol

Let's see. I want to ride to Tampa from Orlando. I spend an hour loading the car, drive to the train station, find a place to park, spend $8-16 a day, on parking. Spend 1/2 hr, unloading the car and being taken to the terminal. Sit around, and wait for the train....Get to Tampa, in 1/2 hr, once I'm on the train...Not enough time for a snack. Get off the train. Spend an hour renting a car, to drive across town, to Bush Gardens....Rinse and repeat...How many times a year, do you think that Florida citizens are going to put up with that, when they could just jump in the car, and be in Tampa in 1 1/2 hrs?

Oh, yeah. Don't forget, Janet Napalotano wants to get her chubby little fingers in there, somewhere, and run them all over your body.

You should see me on native rights issues, I get vicious.

As for Royd, I have a hard time agreeing with a lot of what he says, but hey, thats life, if we all agreed, life would be boring

I'm still wondering what your definition of PC is? It is something that varies from person to person so I like to know where someone is coming from. Not wanting to argue or anything, I just find peoples different views fascinating and love learning about people.
I see PC used a lot and it almost always means something different for each person who uses it.

PC (Political Correctness) is bending the truth or softening it ridiculously, or outright lying, in order not to offend someone, even if what was said is not offensive in and of itself - for instance, a lot of people take offense if you shorten the term for an ethnicity to something more manageable, even though there's nothing insulting about it. Often, PC includes political views that people find "extreme" - that is, anything that takes a strong and consistent moral stance on any issue at all.

The problem being that anything resembling consistency and honesty is going to offend someone. Probably, I've offended a lot of people who now think I'm anti-American, for whatever reason. Thankfully, so far they've kept their mouths shut.

Several people on here are convinced I'm racist - and said so. Of course, I find ad hominems offensive, the difference between I and them being that I tend to beat people over the head with reality (which tends not to be very PC most of the time
lol.png
) rather than returning the ad hominem when I'm offended. Which probably offends them.

I want to apologize for two things:
#1: Going off-topic (as usual).

#2: Writing a post that will probably just make you dumber than when you started.

As I said, PC is different to everyone.
I have heard racists use PC as a term to dismiss people offended by their hate speech, and I have heard PC used by people who dismiss those offended by the term little person. PC, in each context , can be reasonable or unreasonable. Personally when I hear people throw around " Too PC this and Too PC that" Then it just says to me they like saying inflammatory and bigoted things but don't like being called on their crap. But that isn't always the case.

Nah... sometimes i just like to call it like i see it... it is what it is. No matter how PC you try to make it sound...
Sometimes the truth hurts.. ooh well..

that is until someone insults you. I bet if someone called your religion ugly things you would get all upset and someone could claim you're being PC.
Also, some people like to hide behind the disparaging " being too pc" remark as an excuse for being nasty. Same thing for saying " I call it like I see it". When some people say that, it is just an excuse for being brash and rude and they're trying to justify it.
