I accidentally stepped on my Rooster

You do what you want to do. You are sure he is nice and that he loves you and trusts you. Dogs and cats act that way. Even though you stepped on him, what he should have done is flap, yell out and get away from you. That is what a good dog would do, yelp, and move away.
A bad dog would bite you. A bad rooster would attack you.

Keep on trying, but the outlook in my experience is grim.

This is, by far, the best advice I've ever gotten on rooster-keeping.

It's kept at least two of my boys out of freezer camp - and allows me to indulge in the eye-candy of a totally rooster coop and run - with six beautiful roosters currently in peaceful residence.
I LOVE The Boys!

Thank you so much. We've tried holding him down twice and it seemed to kinda work but now he is just a sweet calm rooster well until this happened lol but I'm hoping he comes right back to normal. Thank you again

What I did before worked very well and right now I'm just going to take it slow and back to the begging which is fine with me. He is not a bad rooster he just didnt like what I did to him. He is a good rooster. What I type on here is different than what acually happened cause it's hard to explain things when nobody saw it.

One thing to remember about ANY animal... dont put human emotions on them. They dont think like us, and certainly wont act like us. You cant coddle a teenage rooster... his baby days are over. Now, you train. Just like a dog, you have to be the boss....but dogs will more easily accept you as alpha... roosters will challenge every chance they can. It's what they do! Read all you can. It's a subject that never gets old... I'm certain. Re-reading everything again for myself! Yeah hes mad... and he will get worse. Be very careful :thumbsup

Thank you but I have read and watched videos so I know what to and not to do. And yes I know he will change moods because hes done it in the past I just laugh 😂

Well, we are here if you need anything 😊
Thank you. And this morning he did jump attack me but didnt hurt me it was like more of a push uf anything. But I did step towards him until he backed down. I did this a couple times and he backed down. My progress was to get him to at least eat by me without having any problems and he didnt get treats until he was nice to me so I put the treats by my feet and he ate them. We are going to do the thing were we hold him down and see where that takes us. Thank you again.

He will start hurting you. Hes still young. Hes testing his boundries and trying to see how far you're going to let him go. hes gone too far. Once hes full grown he will cause serious harm. To you and the hens. A mean cockerel will always be a mean cockerel. You've let him pass the boundaries he should have had. No going back now.
