i have always bought crumbles, will this be ok. probably a kinda dumb question but i am afraid they wont eat it and it will just all go to waste.maybe i should try to sell it or give it away and just go buy a new bag. i threw some out and they didnt seem interested,so how long should i wait to see if they will eat it

Have you tried putting some in their feeder? Maybe mixing it with their crumbles (if you have any left)?
Chickens are creatures of habit. The day I switched from their grower crumbles to layer pellets they start eating it out the feeder as if there was no difference at all. I'll never go back to crumbles.

i tossed some in the feeder, but had a million other things to do so i didnt stay around to watch lol.what is better about pellets.

and i never even thought about crumbling it myself, duh

What horsejody said. Chickens won't starve themselves to death. They get hungry enough and those pellets will start looking mighty good.

hey has anyone used a brand called home grown poultry feed. i went to the feed store this afternoon to get the purina brand but while i was looking at weedeater he put the home grown brand in the back of the truck. i did not notice till i got home. i guess it realy don't matter unless there is a price defferince im going to call and find out.

I used to feed the Purina sunfresh but it got to be a hassle because they were always out of it and/or had to special order it. I now feed the Home Grown that I get at the farmer's co-op. I have no complaints with it. The chickens seem to be doing fine with it.
