I actually have two questions. Rhode island vs production and chance of a cockerel

You do not need an expensive rooster from a breeder for that.

And I think there is a lot of negativity toward hatcheries, even when a hatchery has quality lines of breeds.

If you want laying hens, you are probably better off with hatchery birds.

They mean that the Rhode Island Red breed is recognized by the American Poultry Association.

K was wondering if they ment All RIRs or that theirs were approved.

Cackle Hatchery is clearly selling Rhode Island Reds. They have probably been selling Rhode Island Reds longer than just about any company.
