maybe i could move it and place it on the block of wood holding my carton up? would that be a better place to get a reading from? or i could put another piece in just for it to sit by itself.

that is very nice of you to offer. i am glad i am mostly using my own mixed eggs. but i did get six barred rocks from someone that really bums me out right now.

Did you buy the bator new or used? If used it could have been over used or alot of bacteria is stuck in the pores. You are doing everything right.

Its no problem. Trying to narrow down why your not getting a good hatch. Does the temp fluctuate alot in the bator?

not really only when i candled or turn my eggs but i try to do it fast. i will go check the min and max

just checked max 101.3 /38% that is for the whole eight days. min right now is 99.3/31% i rest it after i have had it open because i want what it is doing when i am not around.
see now i would like those would be pretty good numbers?

101F is best for still air. Its been a while since I used a still air bator. but still when my old still air was 99.5F I had 25 out of 40 silkie eggs hatch. maybe its the PO's fault for them not hatching first try?

i just did my last turn for the day. i moved it up on the piece of wood. would like to see what kinds of readings i will get from there.
