i am a murderer!! maybe not!!!!!update

i think i baked them. i moved it to the block of wood and stood it up. this morning it read 105/38%!!! so that would be part of me not knowing it i was supposed to be measuring with it flat down on the screed or closer to the top. i would have never thought that standing on the screen and one inch higher on block would have been almost 5 degrees different.
i know people use the LG still air regularly and have luck. i need to get some of this luck......

I am sorry. I never had that problem before in my GQF. Maybe you can go to home depot or wal-mart and buy the hygrometer with the probe to make sure that its reading correctly. The one I had was always 5-10 degrees off (the hygro you using now). I just threw it in the geckos enclosure and used my springfield with probe and it works much better.

i just thought i haven't taken anything out yet, tooo sad. i am going to but the stupid cheap one that came with incubator and also my meat one from cooking just to see what they all say.

Hope everything works out. I had a temp spike in my old bator for 6 hours at 106F while I was sleeping. I had a bunch of cute fluffy silkies. Hang in there

i just lay the eggs on the grate. I rotate 3 times a day. Today is day 18 soi put a dozen in a egg carten and let the rest lay.

Looks to me like that turning method in a still air 'bator might be your problem. Because heat rises, half the eggs are going to be too warm when they are at the top and half too cool when they are at the bottom. I'd get rid of the cartons and lay them on the screen. Mark them with X&O to keep track of your turning, and measure your temp at the top of the eggs.

i had them laying flat for the first batch that i got zero out of. i took them out of the cartons. see if i can keep any. i have some that were put in a couple days later maybe if i am lucky i haven't killed them yet. i will candle them later to see how they are doing.
