i think i might be on the right track with the ones that are on day four. look pretty good. that will leave me only four in bator. seems like a waste for four..... i will be tempted to grab some out of the fridge... one side of me says ride those four out and see a hatch and the other half says throw some more in...i don't know if i can throw another dozen plus out. makes me soo sad.

Personally I would just see how those 4 do. Dont want to have a staggard hatch or be more depressed down the road.

You should probably see if you can clip the thermometer to the side of the carton that is closer to the top. I really do not recommend using a carton in a still air. The eggs that are on the 'up' side of the turn are much closer to the heat source. With nothing to circulate the air, they would be much hotter than the ones on the 'down' side of the turn.
You can go on eBay and get a small pc fan to hook up in your bator. I got mine for $4 shipped, and had to rewire it to a cordless phone power supply cord to plug it into the wall. Here's a pic of how I did mine.

This is the back of the fan. The 'sucker' part is on the opposite side of the fan, with the 'blower' being on the end, where the silver metal piece is. It has helped out quite a bit since I added this.

You could also use a sponge for the humidity, and just tilt the bator 3 times a day. I believe the problem is with the heat source, not the rising heat. just my opinion.

It worked fine with my GQF hovabator. Right now I am having quail trouble at 99.5F in my forced air lol. These things really make you wait dont they!

I have just recently lowered my temp to read 98 on my thermometer, trying to get them to not hatch early. I think it is just my birds though. There are about as many people that say bantams hatch on day 19 as there are that don't. I will see how the ones do with the lower temp, then make my decision.

My silkies did hatch a day earlier then they should have. my buff orp standards pipped on the 19th and hatch 20-21st. My lonely d'uccle hatched on the 23rd day. Thats how it goes for me lol.

well.....i have two eggs out of the first batch that have live chickies dancing around in there!!!!! i wouldn't give up on them and they came through. day 10. also three out of the four others are looking GOOD.
