For a while I was just taking a break from my computer then it fried and I couldn't get on it even if I wanted to. Now I have a new laptop that will hopefully not die like the last one did. The old one had some overheating trouble but this one has a good cooling system so I should be good. Also it has tons more picture space!!!
Anyways all the peafowl are dooing well. Ice is starting to peck at her peachicks and chasing them off of food so she is starting to be less motherly. I was wondering how long that would last. Her girls are fairly big now. I am looking for eggs all the time these days but I haven't seen any yet. I did see Damsel in one of the nest boxes, which was a HUGE surprise! I haven't seen any of the adult hens jump inside a nest box at all. It would be great if she nested in there.
I got a big log from the burn pile and decided it would work well in the pen. After a lot of rolling and figuring out how to move it on my own I got it in the pen right where I wanted it and stood it up. It is a really nice perch for them. I figure it will be a good preening perch. Anyways I knew I could get Peep up there so I tapped my hand on the top of the log and after some thinking he flew up ontop of the log. I put some treats up there. Now every day he flies up there for the treats. I don't know if the other birds have been up there yet though. They look up there but they haven't flewn up there.
Peep is still being Peep. I was sitting on a bucket in the pen and he walked up to me and stood there then put his head in my hands and peeped. I knew he wanted me to pet him so I did and whenever I would stop he would peep for more and he would peck at my hand. He likes a lot of attention. I need to take some more photos. Anyways that is what is going on in my peafowl world.
