I read every single post and was thinkg "HOARDER DOG RESCUE" - then I saw this

CONGRAT!!!!!!!

See, there was nothing wrong with you!!! Those of us knew that, so pointing fingers from others was so wrong in so many ways!

Pics are coming, but right now he needs a name!

I found out when I met him that the family that originally had him had little girls and the little girls named him J-Lo and gave him a pink collar....

Parents, seriously? C'mon now, how are kids gonna learn anything?

This dog has had a hell of a lot in life, so he deserves a special name.

I was thinking Draco, like from Dragon Heart.

Any suggestions BYCers?

Draco is also the name of the evil kid in the Harry Potter books/movies. So maybe not. But not having seen him or know his personality, I can't offer any suggestions. I know with my chickens, it just kind of "comes" to me after a while. That's how one of my MFC cockerals got the name Crispin. And ya know, it really fits him. I'm sure something special will come to you too.

Here he is at work with me. Most people have never seen a Lemur up close before, can you imagine how the dog felt? LOL! They kept trying to mock bark at him, it was so funny!

I'm happy for you that you got the dog you wanted. Congrats on your hard work to get him!

I've not dealt with shelters, but I did try to adopt a dog from a rescue. The ones I dealt with are out of their minds. It's a wonder they ever place any dog. Apparantly, because I never owned an Aussie, I was not qualified. But I go into her house, and it reeks of pee, subfloor in her bedroom (had to go through the bedroom to where the puppies were) and the puppies were not kept in what I consider good conditions. But I'm not acceptable, heck, any of those dogs would have had a better life with me.

After that, my best friend had a dog they didn't want. (She breeds for bite protection work) There was a puppy that didn't fit what they were looking for for that work. So I got a $1,200 German lines German Shepherd for free. (my friend was 1/2 the breeding of her so she got to take a puppy) And she's a great family dog, which is all I wanted.
