Well, if this blasted Chicken Math doesnt rein itself in, I am going to recycle all the pallets in a 20 mile radius LOL....we began with 9 Buff Orpingtons 6 wks old (which have been thinned to 5 birds now due to 5 being Roos) and then came a trade for 3 of my BO Roos, and then....we are up to 30 birds now but have a coop with the 5 BO, a coop with Aracaunas and EE and then our mixed flock of 5 RIR, 2 BR, a Red Star and a Jersey Giant, both lay everyday.

While we are only getting 2-3 eggs aday right now, I am sure that with 18 hens, we will up that number come spring time...there are 4 of us in the house that eat an omlet each morning so we go through 4-5 dozen eggs a week....plus, since we try to recycle everything in our house hold, this will stop adding to the "Leaning Tower" of egg cartons we have now...

Ok enough typing, I think I just saw a pallet...

48 I wish I could have that many (and maybe one day I will) but I just keep thinking, how would I EVER dust them all if they have lice or treat them for mites, how do you do it?

We moved them here with us when mom was diagnosed with cancer. She is in remission thank the Lord. My daughters do help some when they are here (20 and 30). My best friend and DH is my critter gitter

And helps with the meat birds/hogs when i do the "deed".
I keep the critters dry, let them range daily, use ACV in their water. Ferment feed and spoil em rotten

. I try to look over 5-10 every day to make sure there's no issues. Yep i can tell them all apart too

I do use DE in the poop trays, just keep stuff clean and dry seems to work best for them. I act very quickly to separate any animal that even hints of a problem till I can be sure they are fine.
Ordering my turkeys and Lavender orps next week!! super excited!!! Doomed i tell ya!
