I am just SO mad!

That is NOT acceptable. At all. What if it bit your kids? Or you got rabies?

I would be mad too. They are rude neighbors and have you fines then this. I would stick it to them doctor bill for you, vet bill for the rabbit, and what they got you fined for also. I have an outside cat that never leaves my yard except the occasional trip to the neighbors cattle pond for a drink. It has never attempted to hurt one of my pets or birds. It has protected them from the mean cat that no one claims is theirs.

Whoah, whoah, whoah, did we all just miss this? You got bit/scratched by a nonvaccinated cat?!

What are you doing here? Why aren't you in the hospital getting rabies shots for yourself? Why hasn't that cat been put down and rabies tested?

Good Lord! Don't mess with rabies! It WILL kill you!

I'd trap it and kill it myself. Honestly.

I dont know how on EARTH you can keep a cat on YOUR OWN property, but my theory is, if you cant live without your cat, or deal with them dying by some unknown cause KEEP THEM INSIDE.

My cats are outside and fair game to the world at large, But they hardly leave the yard because theyre lazy. But you can bet i'd deal with it if someone had to off them for being obnoxious and killing their animals.

And you can bet your booty if some stupid animal did somthing like that I'd be killing it.

I know some people would probably freak out about that, but thats too bad. its an animal, theyre like pests in most area because theyre so numerous. They kill my stock, they keep me awake at night, and they stink up my yard.

ugh.

I'm gonna ditto this advice -

1) best to keep the cat alive until you learn about its rabies vaccination status -

2) cat could just be hungry, but I'd sure hate to make a call that could risk my health - could be rabid behavior...

3) animal control can be called outside of regular business hours when human safety is at stake -

4) pictures, and go to an ER asap - if you DO develop an infection and DON'T go to an ER now, you may have difficulty with reimbursements for medical expenses for you.

5) I'd call a vet and get the bunny in asap and get the bill to the neighbors.

So sorry this happened to you and to your bunny!

I third this, it is very important that the cat have a necropsy and you need to be treated for rabies now... Rabies will mess you up very quickly.

Yall got me freaking out a bit! The animal control officer called me about 915 pm and said shes been swamped with 911 calls and shes got a few more to do but shed come out anyways but I told her it could hold off till the morning.
I am NOT about to get the neighbors angry for being awoken at midnight due to a cat. They have the police over there from time to time on what I think is for domestic reasons. I stay home alone with the kids and spend the majority of my time outside. The guy does too and I dont need him over here threatening me. I just would hate that everytime I go outside you could feel tension so thick in the air you could cut it with a butter knife!

Im not saying hed come over here but they seem like the kind of people that would call you over to them if they saw you out. I just hate to be . Worse feeling in the world!

But I asked the lady...I said 'well what if you get over there and they straight up claim they dont own a cat they have no idea what shes talking about' and she asked if I knew for sure it was their cat I told her I see them taking it in and out of the house all the time, the kids play with it. It is there cat, no doubt!
She said something about trapping it and bringing it in but I dont think she understands that they are probly going to be hit with some bills..

Ugh...
Ive watched this cat for months. Its just one that likes to seek out something smaller than it and tear it to shreds. Ive seein it do it to birds mice rats...anything! Dont think it has rabies or anything...Just bored.

So even if the cat just licked his paws prior to scratching you, you don't have to worry about rabies? I think you should ask about that.
