In the Brooder
Hello All! I am looking for a place I can purchase 2 chicks this year that will be very likely to lay Blue Eggs. Does anyone know of a place in Northern CA here I may be able to find chicks that will lay Blue Eggs?

Some people like being able to know exactly what bird lays what egg in their flock and some people enjoy having a rainbow egg basket every daywhy are people so obsessed with egg shell color?
Reckon blue is what they want.why blue? brown is easy and white is hard...
I have 20 layers and get blue (okay, blueISH), brown and white eggs. I have never had any trouble selling any of my eggs and in fact people are intrigued by the unusual blue, green and olive colors they get in my mixed cartons. I have Easter Eggers (blue, green, olive, cream and pink), Black Australorps (brown eggs) and Brown Leghorns (white eggs). The OP should get what they want. It's all fun!i have 24 layers and give away all the eggs...aside from what we eat. it’s way easier to give away brown or white eggs. “blue” eggs aren’t ones that people want. granted...egg shell color makes ZERO difference...but get a chicken that lays white eggs. way easier to share.
Just preference and aesthetic. Same reason we love ornamental birds.why are people so obsessed with egg shell color?
Probably bc white is all you can get at the grocery store. Oh and brown if you want to pay extra. Blue and pink and cream are beautiful, interesting, unique and special.why are people so obsessed with egg shell color?
In your opinion. Some prefer duck or quail eggs, I've heard.people obsess about chicken egg shell color...yet turkey eggs are way better than chicken eggs...
Not everyone has the space or want to raise turkeys just for eggs. Some would rather have regular chicken eggspeople obsess about chicken egg shell color...yet turkey eggs are way better than chicken eggs...
You're entitled to your opinion. But we are way off topic now. OP asked where they could find birds that lay blue eggs. I think their thread has been hijacked. They shouldn't have to justify why they want blue eggs bc you prefer white.i get it. but i’m still going to give you sh*t because i think it’s nonsense.
