I'm in Wayne County, PA - you can't more northeastern than that and the winters here are absolute misery!!! If you can tolerate endless cold that goes on for weeks then great. We had 3 weeks straight below 20 this past January.

PA has no state budget for the last 55 days, is 2 billion in the hole and it seems taxes will continue to rise at a very rapid pace. I find PA penalizes homeowners by forcing us to pay ever increasing school taxes.

Land is now going for $10K++ an acre for any decent size because of the natural gas we are sitting on top of (Marcellus Shale) and the drilling will begin within the next 2 years. We were looking for acreage but the gas drilling speculation has driven prices high. My neighbor has 68 acres with a tiny dilapidated house and little road frontage for sale at $600K and will get it. Who knows what gas drilling will do to our ground water too.

That's my view on PA

Well you can work, just not in Belize, for example, Mr. Saddi is working in the family business 2 days a week (and making almost as much as he does during the regular week of teaching), there's no reason why he could not manage work from belize and use web conferancing for meetings.

If I were You Tipsy, I'd hire a well driller. By law you cant drill for natural gas,but you can drill for water. They take a 55 gallon drum with a fire in it. place it next to the well driller. When you have ignition stop @ cap it. Once you have the well, you have the rite to sell the gas. I know folks in Arkansas that make a pretty good profit that way.

Yeah! This is all new around here. Promising to be the "biggest natural gas pool in the world".

Hopefully we'll all get RICH!

We almost bought 140 acres 5 years ago but I "chickened" out at the last minute because we were so far in debt back then. If only we would have known this was coming!

The gas lease sign-on bonuses are in the hundreds of thousands at this point on those size tracts!

Sorry for the double post. I had an idea, with a question. Why wouldn't it be profitable to buy these old capped town dumps & pump the gases from them for heating purposes? Any one ever hear of that being done? It's methane!

English is the official language of Belize, but there are plenty there who only speak Spanish, especially away from cities and tourist areas. Just as there are plenty in Costa Rica who speak English, although Spanish is the official language.

just as in america there are plenty who speak spanish although english is the official language. (for now)
