i am not sure if this a rant or not....

your SS sounds just like my oldest DD! She will not lift a finger to do anything at all. My youngest DD who is 18 will work herself half to death (majority of the time). Anyway she acts like everyone should bow down to her or something. Her dad asks her who died and made her queen? I will tell her to do something and she gets so mad. She tells her friends that I work her to death and that she does everything, sorry to bust her bubble. this is what she does.
goes to college yes, goes to bed wakes up when she wants to goes to bed when she wants stays up on the computer just about all night normally gets up from bed about 3 or 4 in the evening and starts back all over again.
when I was her age she will be 20 in march I was married working taking care of elderly people, then I got preggers with her sometimes I think what was I thinking? don't get me wrong I love her but it is time to WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started working at 16, paid my own car payment, my parents did pay my insurance, but that was their idea.

Miss Prissy, if I lived closer to you for $10 an hour I would come work for you in a heart beat.

We always had chores to do around the house and we never got paid for doing them, it was expected. My mother always worked and that left us 2 girls to do chores. We did dishes, cleaned, laundry and when we got older started dinner before my mom got home.

I too started work at 16......as soon as I was 18..I had a a day job (5 days) and an evening job (7 nights) to help my mother as my father had his first heart attack at 45 and could not work after that...bills had to be met, so mum and I paid them....my mum also had two jobs so we could make ends meet...my brothers where too young to work.....as soon as they left school at 16, straight into work......thats the way it was then and should be now......providing work is available....you take what you can .....

I would hire you.

I am looking for someone willing to work 5 hours two days a week in winter, more in summer. I need a jack of all trades handyman who doesn't mind helping me plant a garden, cleaning the coop, herding sheep, trimming goat hooves, building run and sectioning off pens inside my barn, feild work, yard work, fence mending, painting, orchard trimnming, etc.

Includes lunch both days, 1 doz eggs and 1 gallon of milk in season per week.

So, far - not one taker.

Can't believe no-one has taken you up on that Miss P...... they don't know what their missing......

Pity my handman/gardener isn't closer, he would work for both of us!! Especially if he gets fed as well.......and he does love his numerous cups of tea.......

The way teenage boys eat he would have to work mostly for board. Meals, air conditioned bedroom and laundry service.
