I am offended.... should I be?

I feel really bad for you, having to go through all this.

I think it's a waste of time and energy to be offended. So what he doesn't like to eat your eggs? Everyone has their own food preferences. Be grateful that he's not griping to you and making you buy him the store bought eggs. It seems petty to get worked up because of this. Throwing out his " yucky " eggs takes literally a second. Also, they could be scrambled and fed to your hens. My opinion? NO BIG DEAL. don't be offended, afterall, you aren't the one who made the eggs anyway

If your mum brings a dozen eggs with her for the weekend, I suggest it might be the quantity of eggs that your dad has, and not the particular type of egg, that has this unfortunate effect on his digestion. In the interests of global warming I would gladly tolerate shop bought eggs, against the alternative situation.

In all liklihood, it is the feed you give your birds that causes your father to have gas. Something in it he is allergic to. Several years ago on another list htere was a person with similar issue, except that it was her DH. After a fairly lengthy discussion of WHY (and she HAD tried switching eggs so that he was eating her hen's but thought they were ones from the store, but still reacted), she tried switching feed and bingo, teh problem went away.

It is illegal to feed hormones to laying hens and then sell the eggs.

Yes, you can feed hormones to milk cows: that is legal
No, you cannot feed hormones to laying hens: that is illegal

Thank them for all the chicken treats.

I think just about everyone has food preferences. If I was at your house an you offered me the bestest green beans in the world, out of your garden. I would politely say "Thank you no".

Imp- Course the imp in me says switch out the eggs with balut. That'd get a reaction.

Oh HECK.. dont even get me started.... we have their dog ALL THE TIME they cant bring him to my sisters house cause you know dogs carry germs and well you can fill in the rest...

this dog in 100+lbs...

tore a 4" gash in my sectional sofa that is just over a year old

jumps on my bench for my dining room table (my table has the 2 benches and 2 chairs) well he has damaged mt 1 bench beyond repair

chases my cats to no end cause my dad thought it was funny when he was a puppy that he chased the stray cats out of his yard. (we are missing a cat right now cause he chased her upstairs and she jumped out n open 2nd story window)

knocked my plants over and I have given up on all of them

destroyed my blinds cause he looks out the window and bent all the slats on the bottom half

ripped my curtain rod out of my wall because he got my living room drapes wrapped around himself while looking out the window

We wont even get started on why my dad is a PIA... (Think Archie Bunker X10)

Tell your parents to spring for a chain link kennel for their dog; then keep it there until they decide to train it to behave.

hehehe, Dar, did you intend that pun? You said your dad farts too much when he eats your eggs and you're "cheesed off"? Cutting the cheese.....

I wouldn't be offended, I would just laugh!

Now, I do have a friend that never even tried the dozen eggs I gave her....She threw them away....So I've never given her another dozen........That cheesed me off a bit!!!! But I'm not offended.....Some people are just uptight like that......

If they only knew how the chickens had to live that they get their grocery store eggs from........They'd gross out for sure!

THe VAST majrity of chicken feed does not have antibiotics. SOME chick starter does contain antibiotics, but it is not nearly as common as it once was. PERSONALLY, I preferred the starter that contained a low dose of antibiotic.

It is illegal to give antibiotics to laying hens (or meat birds, for that matter). Don't get me wrong; most chicken feed is formulated with economics as the primary goal, not health of the bird. I am really picky about selecting the feeds I use, and I supplement with things I consider nutritious for the birds. I could really save a lot of money by selecting the least expensive feed, but you would sure be able to tell.

Oh no their "baby" will not go into a kennel... they would not even crate train him cause someone told them that crate training was cruel... and they wonder why he is NOT allowed to be upstairs with me when I go to bed?... If it was not for the fact that my mom is just recovered from breast cancer and then this whole fire thing.. her stress is unreal.. her B/P it at dangerous levels as it is.. I dont want to push her over the edge
