I'm on lockdown now too! Actually, technically it begins tomorrow, but I won't have time tomorrow so I went ahead and got them in their cartons:

Now I'm waiting for humidity to stabilize. These are six bantam chicken eggs our neighbor's hen laid in our hay stack, and our children found there. My friend's daughter will keep the chickens.

The little man in the "sentry" picture is also my admin assistant--he entered the data on tonight's candling into the egg records. He's my jack of all trades farm helper. He's also my eldest, and my very wonderful, son.

right now only quail have hatched

patiently waiting for the other zipped quail to get out, chicken eggs laying still, my heart is beating!!

what does humidity have to be at to put them in?

Same as chickens. Just the time varies according to breed. anywhere from 16-21 days

woke up this morning to cheeps coming from the chicken, my first silkie hatched, and about 3 hours later we have another, still waiting on 11 others,
we got to watch the whole thing on the second one, mom was eating the shell from off of her, kinda like she was helping out, is that normal?
Mom is sitting steady and will get pics soon

Still waiting on the chickens. I don't think anymore quail will hatch.

On a sad note, the quail i had to save, feet issues just wasn't working. It was beautiful, Prettiest quail ever....RIP i am sorry!
