I am outraged about false piggies!!! *rant

Love kunekunes! Like you said soooo fuzzy. :D No problem, best of lucky with your piggy search. Be careful of the dishonest people out there. They do suck.

The rescue with the pigs sucks.. I have to be a vegetarian in order to adopt from them. -___-
Uh, can I just put on the adoption form that I'm vegetarian or will they check my feces for traces of meat? I don't eat mammalian meat often but I do eat fish quite a bit. I had sushi the other day. I don't wanna be dishonest with them but I think it's a silly rule. I could get a friend of mine who is vegetarian to adopt from them, I just have to pay her. The reason why I want to adopt from the particular rescue is because of the animal's backgrounds... and well because Acton is a lot closer to me than other rescues/shelters. It's Farm Sanctuary, I don't know much about them. I know someone who went to my school who volunteers there.
That vegetarian rule though... I'm not looking to eat pigs or goats. :/ I believe they do house checks which is okay with me, if they do that then why must the adopter be a vegetarian? Arghh first teacup pigs and now this.

Welcome to the wild world of private rescues. X)

And yes, you can mark that you are vegetarian. It is one of the reasons I have to stare incredulously at some of the rescue questionaires I see. Anyone who knows the game of telling people what they want to hear can play, and they can play it well. I know someone who adopted (and ate) several shelter animals...not dogs or cats...as far as I know...by doing just that.

For me personally, I refuse to support overbearing shelters or rescues on personal moral grounds. But, that's just me. What you are comfortable with doing may be different, and that is just fine.

It also says I have to be part of a humane group. The questionare also asks if they can visit your home, what is your income because they want to make sure you can provide for the animal financially, it wants you to provide information about your exotic or livestock vet, and the animals at the sanctuary mainly are animals from slaughterhouses and livestock auctions. My mom said to forget about it.
I had sushi today and it was amazing. :p
Anyways, I've been looking in CL for nigerian dwarf goats lately, been pretty hard to find some. It's even hard to find a wether of any breed of goat, all I keep finding is "champion lines buck, breed to your doe of choice!" ... I don't care.. I just want a nice wether and a sweet doe. Dairy breed ofcourse, I do want milk also. Is there any particular time of the year that is kidding season? Right now all I'm finding are boers, nubians, fainting goats, mini nubians *?*, and really expensive toggenburg goats.

Here in FL Feb/March is usually dairy goat kidding season, though there are exceptions. It's later farther north. Most breeders sell between 2-3 months old, unless they sell bottle babies, then it's earlier. So, I say try in spring.

Hey JT, what breed is your pig, what age, and what breeder did you get her from? Would love to see photos of your little cutie. :)

hi punka doodle she is a miniature teacup pig and she is six months old the mature age for a pig and i got her from dighton massachusetts

Hey JT, she sounds adorable. Pigs are sexually mature at 6 months, but actually keep growing until they are 2 to 5 years old, and can really pack on the pounds during that time. I'd love to keep hearing about her progress, and would also love to hear from people with older pigs of a diminutive size!
