If you raise Cornish X, you know how they'll eat you out of house and home. And as much as they eat, they also drink. I was getting really worn out trying to keep the waterers full.
I took a $10 stock tank float valve, a square plastic bucket left over from my horse's supplements and cut it down to size, and a scrap of 2x4... Now all my problems are solved - constant supply of water!
The float valve assembly is mounted to the 2x4, but the bucket is separate and simply slides in snuggly and is easy to remove and clean.
Thought I'd share this idea with anyone else who is getting exhausted trying to keep up with these beasties. They are bottomless pits.
