I mean, THEY ARE YOUR CHICKENS!!! Keep your eyes peeled, its always funny to see ur possessions wandering in someone's yard!!

I love your coop. My first thought was an owl, but there is no way an owl could get in there.

Do you have homeless people in your area? If so, they will be back. Be prepared.

Take down the Welcome sign above the door!
sheesh! Who would think that it would be taken literally to mean "you are welcomed to steal my chickens"???!!!!!

i would be heartbroken and FURIOUS if any of my birds went missing! so soooorry for your loss. Also, those people reported it to the police dept.

sorry that you have to go through this. I know there where a few post about silkies being stolen. What is this country coming to when people are stealing other people chickens. I would put up a game cam and report this to the police if they are brave enough to steal chickens how long before they are brave enough to break into the house.

Put a hasp on both sides of the door, and padlock both at night. The door is small and light enough that a thief only has to unscrew the hinges and open the door against the hinge of the hasp. Otherwise reverse the hinges so they are inside the coop, or use screws that aren't normal like phillips heads and would require a special bit. Basically unless you want to secure all four sides of the door and or any windows, a determined thief will get in. Perhaps a night of watchings and scaring the devil out of the thief might do some good.

Sorry you are dealing with this.

That is unbelievable! If it were an animal there would be some signs. Anyway you can move the coop closer to your house? Everyone had great suggestions. I really don't know what else to say. We take all precautions to protect our flocks from predators, who knew they we would have to protect them from the human kind. Sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope they don't come back, but a game cam is a very good idea.

How are your broodies doing? How many are they trying to hatch? Maybe you'll have a new favorite soon.
