I have heard that cayanne pepper will kinda "help" the egg laying process out. I dont want to hurt my girls, but 24 weeks, no eggs, I am gonna go crazy! So does it help/hurt?

24 weeks and no eggs? Hmm...

Are you sure they aren't laying somewhere that you haven't found the eggs?
Seems a little late to get no eggs...

Detail....

They stay in their coop all day unless I let them out for a few minutes. I watch them the whole time.My RIR has a big, deep- pink comb and wattle. My SLW is super red hardly any comb/wattle. She is also very big in size. my EE is still kinda small and barely any color, comb or wattle

One of my chickens just started laying, and she's about 24 weeks old - hatched in January. I know it's late, but it's not unheard of.

Do your hens squat when you reach for them suddenly? Have their combs and wattles grown rapidly over the last couple of weeks and become more colorful? Are they on laying feed now?

No they dont squat, they run and fly FAST, they have been on layer for 4 weeks now. My RIR has been growing the fastest, not "alot" of color change. My other 2 are just kinda changing slowly..

I don't really think the type of food matters much - ie layer pellets. It is the age and maturity of the bird.

I have 6 hens, 5 are laying now and one still looks quite young - her comb is still small and pale.

I am sure they will start eventually. Sounds like yours still have some growing to do.

Make sure they have a balanced diet and they will get there.
