No I didn't purchase any plans ~ I looked on this website for something similar to what I wanted~ something not to big and kinda like a playhouse! And I found somebody that had built one and their dimensions were 3.5 X 5 and from what I could see in their pictures the size would be perfect for my yard. They didn't have any details about dimensions for walls and roof line. So I just had to wing it and I built everything off of the 3.5 X 5 dimensions and built each section as I went along. There wasn't any plans or instructions though! Haha I figured out how much wood I would need based off of those dimensions and went shopping~ and it worked out almost perfectly I didn't have to go back and buy any more wood and I have a little bit extra so I figured I would build myself a work bench in the garage with that! And this was the first thing I ever built ~ so much fun

I think I knocked the socks of my daddy though! Haha Thanks I'm glad everyone is enjoying thread!

I'm late to the party, but wanted to say what an awesome job you did!!! Way to go. I've been trying to learn to use power tools, but my DH gets really worried when I try to do things myself. He's more than a little protective! I'm not sure if it's protective of me or the tools!

ETA: What did you end up doing with your roo?

And I still have my roo! It breaks my heart to give him away... I had another Rooster that I gave away first because he started pecking at my feet when I would walk outside to check on everyone~ and as much as he was getting on my nerves I just wanted to find him a good home. But turns out the place I sent him to had a bunch of other roosters and they just kept fighting with him. So he ended up as someone's chicken dinner that night! So I'm not looking forward to trying to rehome my current rooster he is so darn sweet~ I will pick him up and hug him and he'll just sit there and let me pet him. And he is real good with the girls~ He follows me through the yard like a puppy dog

I just want to keep him so bad

I'm going to keep him as long as I can~ but once the cooler months set in people would probably be able to hear him crow because their windows would be open. So in the mean time I will try to look for a home for his future where he hopefully won't be some one's dinner...

I feel super guilty about the rooster because I helped Tiffany rehome him on a nearby farm. I had reservations about the people adding one rooster to their flock, but thought if they free range he could avoid the other roos. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. I don't have the setup to take another roo here, although he is a beautiful bird. I'm afraid the same thing would happen with trying to integrate him into my existing flock of 27 birds which includes one roo. It just doesn't work to add one bird if you can't keep him isolated.

We'll keep looking for another place for the one that's left.
