And it was delishious! I"ve been trying to hold out but today I broke down and ate 2 of them one white egg from flower my Ca. White, and One from my GSL peaches, the white egg was pretty small so I broke open peaches med. sized egg and it was a double yolker! Talk about a bonus! The yolks were the most viberant orange color as I have ever seen. the taste was out of this world. I didn't even use salt or pepper cause I wanted to see if I could taste the difference and man o man It was like night and day between backyard eggs and store bought! Im so glad I decided to keep Chickens, my girls are the best! Sandy
My niece says she can't taste any difference, I say she nutts! LOL.

I agree they taste SOOO much better.I eat a scambled egg and cheese sandwhich often as I love them!

Congratulations!

May I make a recommendation? The Farmstead Egg Cookbook is a great little book written by Terry Golson, who keeps hens herself in MA. Lots of great recipes, and she also has a web site with other tips for keeping chickens and even a web cam that looks at the inside and outside of her coop during the day.

Thanks so much for the link! I'm going to check it out.

My son was mad because I ate some of the eggs yesterday on a sandwich (after telling everyone to keep the mitts off) :rolleyes:LOL Anyway made him an egg sandwich today and he thought that there was a big diff. too. As a matter of fact, I think thats what he made hisself for dinner too! LOL Oh well I guess I can't look at them forever:D! That is the reason we started keeping them in the first place! It just amazes me everytime I go out there and find one in the nest! Too cool but maybe the newness will where off soon so I can really jump in and enjoy eating them all the time without trying to look at them for a couple of days first!

Cool, I'll check out her coop-cam!

Is there anything any better than an egg, medium-soft fried, with cheese and mayo, on oh so soft and fresh white sliced bread? I'm drooling and thinking to have one right now myself. I wish your girls egg-speed so everyone can enjoy a sandwhich as often as they like. There is sooo much difference in home grown and store bought. No comparison. HenZ
