Somehow I got lucky w the one we just got.. she took on a deserted Chiangus calf and is bagging up w/him nursing on her

The bull does throw small calves, yes.

A Chiangus! I just LOVE those but I like the pure Chianinnas the best

Hmm I think I spelled it wrong.. its a Charolais/Angus.. I was told that they were called Chiangus.. could be wrong, I dunno lol The calf has taken to her like she was his real mama though! She's more bagged up then yesterday... she's got milk comin from all 4 teats, so maybe she'll get completely bagged and I won't hafta breed her this year

I'm working hard on the finer details for the digs this week. It should all be ready by Friday afternoon so she can come home to a proper facility. Gotta try and do the best for my girl

I loooooooooooooooooooooooove Jersey Cows!!! They are so pretty, congrats!!! I have 3 goats for milk (in the future, they're too young just yet), but I've always wanted a Jersey Cow. Let me know how it goes.. I'm afraid of it tearing up my pasture to much. I've only got about 1.5-2 acres pasture.

She is home now and I milked her for the first time tonight. Wow, am I rusty! LOL

She is a very good girl and infinately patient with me. We just love her! I'll get more pics up soon.
