I BOUGHT a newer vehicle...

Oh, I thought they were called Ford Explosions. Oops.

Diesel is nice and cheap, but when they decide not to run, they don't.

I live along the freeway access road. A lady whose truck stalled out on the freeway came knocking on my door to get some help push starting her truck. I recruited five of the neighborhood boys to help us. We pushed that darn thing about a half mile down the access road, and then I looked up and saw that diesel tag on the back of the truck.

We could have pushed that darn truck to Tucson, and it still wouldn't have started.

I already have a 2000 Ford Excursion. LOVE IT!!! Wish they still made them, I'd buy another. Has a Triton V-10 in it but it is pricey for gas.

Now I'm googling Lexus and Honda Pilot.

You folks will find me a car yet...

I'm not one of those people, unfortunately.

You know what they call people that drive Suburbans? Survivors.

Being a 2500 4x4, mine sits up higher than most things on the road.. What's always hilarious to me is to pull up next to someone in one of what I like to call the "Mattel" Hummers...not the real Desert Storm era military ones (

), but the ones that are set on silverado frames. I just lurve being able to look slightly down into their passenger compartments.

It's especially funny if it's a Mattel Hummer H3 -- they're so widdle and kyyyoot.

I love my pontiac vibe. I get 34 mpg and I can fit 2 bales of shavings and two bags of feed in the back If I fold down the back seat the possiblities are endless 8' 2x4s, a christmas tree, pot bellied pig....

I also have a chevy avalanche I t has a covered bed with a locking tailgate so I don't have to worry about the birds disappearing. It is a 4x4 quad cab.

My other vehicle is a Hyundai Accent 3-door. Gutless, but surprisingly reliable through the roughly 30K mi I've owned it so far. I've had 7 bags of feed in the back of it before. The guys at the feedmill think it's hilarious, which is fine, becuase I do to.

But suffice it to say that with 350lbs of bagged feed riding as far toward the back of the thing as possible, it gets REAAAAAAAAAAAL easy to steer.

I'm telling you, that Lexus LS series is very cushy on the inside compared to the Pilot. But of course, if you're moving away from luxury, the honda might fit the bill. They too seem to run forever and sure do cost a whole heck of a lot cheaper.

Look in to the Volvo overseas delivery program. The deals get pretty sweet there sometimes. You usually get air fare to Sweden and several days free hotel. Then you can drive the thing around Europe for a couple of months. When you get ready to come back, drop it off and they ship it to the west coast of the US. You fly home.

The car gets imported as a used car, so there is some savings there.

BMW has a similar program, but you have already been down the road with a BMW.

Better luck next time.
