Since the porch really needs work and the the coop part would be small, why not give up the porch and make the unit into one larger coop? You could add window(s), vents etc. Then you would have room to grow. You know how chicken math works. Your husband can come up with a run or outdoor pen area for them. Just sayin'. Still a steal for $ 25. lucky you.
Fabulous purchase! You'd never be able to buy the wood that is still good on it for that, and it's all put together. Sure, you'll have to replace some, but all you have to do is measure what's there- that's a snap!
Very cool! At our old farm we had a playhouse that I thought would be fun to transform into a henhouse. What you have here looks a lot more workable than what we had! Have fun!
I'm so jealous! That is perfect. I've been "given" our 80 - 100 yo oak wood corn crib to convert into my chicken house & yard. Hubby didn't want to get roped into actually building anything, so he "gave" me the corn crib. I'd love to have found something like your little house. The corn crib is going to be interesting to convert. Congratulations on your great find!
