I felt bad for always having a honey-do list a mile long and the nesting boxes were on that list, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and build them myself! I have never built anything on my own before and have always been mortified at the thought of using a power saw (I know! I'm a huge chicken when it comes to power tools
). I guess this is why I'm so very proud of my accomplishment here! I looked at a lot of different pics here on BYC and thought about what I wanted for a few days. I then went to my sisters (her DH is a contractor) and picked up some scrap lumber yesterday morning. When my boys and my DH left yesterday afternoon to go golfing, I went to work! I measured, marked, and cut the wood with some assistance from my 10 year-old son. After 3 hours of work (and just two mistakes), I had them built and hung up in the coop, much to my DH's surprise! Here's my nesting boxes.
