if its blistering up that bad you should go to the Dr for some Silvadine (SP?) My dad was burned bad twice in a couple months and using that on his face and arms there was no scaring. I also helps with the pain.
On your request for a story - tell people that you are SO hot, ya burned yourself! Then make a sizzling noise, lift up your chin, shoulders back, and walk on.. They'll either be impressed, or think you've gone insane. And if they think you've gone insane, they won't ask you ANY more questions!
Take care of yourself.. your BYCer buddies are giving you good advice - MD time...
Well, I'd put Neosporin and a light nonstick dressing on it, and go to work and not say a word. Most of the people I worked with would never have dreamed of asking what caused it. If they do, just say, I burned myself, and change the subject. If you get someone pushy, you may have to say, I'd rather not talk about it. It's none of their business.
Faces have wonderful blood supplies so infection is not really that likely; surely you will know if it happens, from spreading redness, drainage, etc., and Neosporin has 3 antibiotics in it. Neosporin is also good about taking the pain out of wounds. It is possible that Silvadene is better for scar prevention than Neosporin, but you don't seem too concerned about that. Silvadene is a good drug for major burns, but a small second degree burn is not major!
But then, I handle most of my problems without going to doctors, though I do have one, and go once a year. I'm NOT giving advice, just saying what I would do, so you will feel you have some support if you'd rather go this route.
they make second skin burn pads they are in the drug store if it is not too late to get them, they work very well, aloe gell is not the same thing as real aloe. You need to always have an aloe plant in the home
Burns suck I know how you feel. I was screwing around one day as a kid and burning some plastic wrapers. One of the melting wrapers fell on my finger, I couldnt get it off. It burned right onto me. I had to wait for it to blister up then peaked the skin and all off. I thought I was going to pass out.
Blood poisoning is very dangerous. It can acctually kill you very quickly. With any wound expecially one that was caused by something found outside, it's always risky business to ignore it. Get to a doctor, get some antibiotics to take and some sort of ointment. That is the fastest route to take to heal. And the safest.
Burns are not fun....To this day I live with what happened to me . I lit a pilot light on a boiler unit I was reparing . The gas valve was rusted to the on position....you can imagine what happend when I went to light it . Most of my hair was burnt off , I had second and third degree burns on my whole face . I have no eyelashes or eyebrows....being a woman at 29 yrs of age , it's disheartening at times . Just be honest as to what happened . No-one likes a liar . Stupid things happen . I do have to say that one of my friends got caught in a house fire......he used Emu oil for his burns . The pics from before and after are unbelievable . He had 3rd degree burns over 60% of his body....after using it you can't even tell . Wish I had the website for you....just look up Emu oil and maybe you can find it . Good luck and always be honest .
