I can’t save her can I?

Thank you all for the kind words 💕 It was our first cull and hard on all of us. My husband knew how to do it humanely, but still feels very guilty even though she was so sick. May she return to us this spring in a healthier body. This is one of my favourite pictures of her after she recovered from the prolapse

That is one Lucky Penny!

Has anyone ever been so blessed as to be born that hen in that garden with SO much love awaiting her!?

Oh my! Don't waste one moment feeling sad or loss! You were the bestest chicken momma any hen ever had! (You put all of us to shame!)

Now, if EVER there is a tiny bit of your heart getting sad or missing that spoiled girl you march yourself out to the coop and hug one of the hens that lived as the "less pretty" sister of that Penny! She needs it! Can you imagine how those girls feel having watched you give all that love to Penny? Pretty jealous I am guessing... They must have serious therapy bills.

Please remember, whenever loss comes into your life, that the place for love is with those available to receive it, not those who already got a full quota and have moved on.

You were awesome to Penny as long as you could be, now move on to love the others.

:hugs

I might be a little late but what you did I thought was very brave and you did the right thing! She was very loved and spoiled. It was her time and she will come back to you one way or another. :hugs
Thank you 💕 We have another little BLRW pullet that I’m hoping will be just as sweet as she was 🤞🏼 They’re sassy little things until they start to lay lol
