we have a hanging galvinized feeder that hangs under a platform my husband built and we have it on cinder blocks so the wood wont rot and we could get the feeder to the right height too. the ducks get kind of messy with it, but not the chickens. i catch the chickens eating most of the food that gets on the ground. so i dont have alot of waste.
we were using other methods for feeders but we were tired of them raking there feet in the feed and spilling most of it. plus this way it has a roof and we keep the rain out of it. well except for the hurricanes we had gustav and ike, the wind blowing the rain that was unavoidable.
