It was so hard with the black faced EE mix-she is a shy one! Hopefully this shows closer. I don't think they have saddle feathers. Even the one I call a rooster doesn't seem to have them to me! I can't keep roosters so I have no experience. These are mixed breed birds I got from local backyard chicken keeper when my GL Wyandotte was broody and they hatched 1 Jun, so 13 weeks today.
13 weeks is a bit young for very visible male saddle feathers. The red and blue is definitely a cockerel. His saddle feathers are just barely visible. They are the feathers that are so shiny, they look wet.

I got 2 Buff Orpingtons . One is a little older than the other. They both looked just alike until last week one started looking like a roo to me. I really hope I'm wrong and maybe it's just a pullet about to lay. My guess is around 20 weeks old. Thoughts?

The red/blue one is a cockerel. I'm not entirely sure about the orange one, but I'm leaning toward cockerel. The black faced one looks like a pullet.

I see pointy saddle feathers on the older one, it's a roo.

That's what I'm afraid of :( The man I got them from said he'll take any Roos I got back (I also got a Dominque/Barred Rock/Cuckoo Maran or some mix of the 3 lol that I think is a roo). I just hate to split them up. They eat, sleep together, etc.

These 3 are about 17-18 weeks. 2 Buff Orpingtons and a RIR. I have been pretty sure about the buff thats standing in he ground and it is much bigger than the others the same age. Now I'm wondering about the one pictured on the stump as well.

The RIR has a large comb and waddle but in not as familiar with the breed. I have one much younger that doesn't have much of a comb/waddle at all.

Do you think they are all Roos?

All of them look like pullets to me. I don't see any pointy saddle feathers.
