Well I bought three together out of the sexed pullet bin...which I know is only somewhat correct. Not sure my neighbors will be happy with the rooster, but we will see how it goes!! Thanks!!

I have 3 standard white cochins. They were purchased from my local feed store as straight run. They will be 5 weeks Monday. Do these look like pullets?

I thought I was getting good at this game, but these baby Deathlayers are keeping me guessing! They’ll be 7 weeks old tomorrow and I don’t see many definitive signs in either direction. I’m guessing that #1 and #2 are pullets and #3 is a cockerel, just because #3 is the largest and has a tiny bit more red in the comb, as well as very slightly larger wattles (though none of them have much wattle development). What do you think? The last pic is my BCM cockerel who is exactly the same age as the Deathlayers - no doubt about him!

I'd say all 3 are pullets.

I'm usually pretty good at sexing and have my guesses, but figured I'd ask on these. I keep second guessing myself. The mixes are from my own eggs. I lost my Black and Gold Pavlovskaya rooster, so I had to hatch some of his offspring. I'm not going to breed them so I don't care that they are mixes. The mixes that I ended up with are, 1 EE mix and 3 Polish mixes from him and my white crested blue Polish. Then I also have 2 pure Lavender/ blue Ameracauna and 1 pure Gold Laced Wyandotte. I'm familiar with the breeds that made my mixes and the lavender Ameracauna, but this is my first gold laced Wyandotte. Any guesses are appreciated. I know they are a but young and will continue to watch for signs.
