Personally, I would change the baby shower. Your grandparents will only have one 50th anniversary, ever, and one date for it. It should be a special time for your whole family. Your baby shower can be moved and still be just as special. I'm sure the people who have confirmed will understand the need for a change in dates... I certainly would.

Oh my goodness, this heartburn is about to kill me! I think I'm down to being able to eat yogurt and ice cream.

No baby shower this time. GAChknGirl, that pendant sounds adorable. If it were me, I'd give it to her on her 5th birthday.

Here's a random question I've been wondering...Is there a socially acceptable way to ask for donations (towards medical bills, etc) in place of gifts?

My reasoning is this: I know about 4 people that have had baby boys before us and all of them have offered to give us clothes, so we really won't need any of those. Plus my husband's uncle has offered the changing table, we have the crib, etc. Counting all the stuff people are already giving us there really won't be a whole lot of things I need to register for. However, we have a very large family/friend base and will be inviting about 50+ people to the shower so as not to offend anyone by not giving them an invitation. I don't want to get a whole bunch of stuff I don't need and money to pay for the delivery would REALLY help.

Anyways, thoughts?

I would be Ok with changing it, but there aren't too many Saturdays open. Anything past June 5th is kinda late for a shower, IMO.

I just don't see why none of my family can show up for a while. They don't have to stay, I won't make them stay the whole three hours. And if there is something big going on the same day, I need to be told about it. Right now I'm just getting excuses as to why they won't show up.

We are having a welcome home baby shower, when the baby gets here, since my family is 700 miles away and i cant be traveling back and forth all the time and the next time i will be up there is for my brothers graduation in may it will be busy so my mom thinks a welcome home shower would be good so then my family and friends can be there and i wont have to run all over with the baby!!

might sound bad...... how about asking for pampers gift certificates.....you can take the money you would spend on diapers and put it towards the hospital bill each month....or walmart gift cards....you can buy formula (if needed) or use towards your food bill.

Hahaha....funny....
I made it past 30 and don't really feel any older yet. Maybe come Sept. i will feel older when another birthday comes around. My 12 year old thinks I am really old, wonder what he thinks about my hubby because he is older than me with grey hair.....LOL

i love my 30s...my 20s were horrible but it seems like everything has evened itself out now that i am a little older and wiser.
