I can't breath....

In my work, people ALWAYS came to work sick. Their kids would go to daycare, too, and pick up Super Bugs. Then their parents would come into work hacking their brains out and spitting germs all over. To top it off, most offices aren't humidified, the air is very dry, making it easier to pick up germs.

It was like living in a petrie dish.

I'm not sure going to school will be much different. I keep reading about college students carrying all sorts of exotic things back from various countries and from their student housing. Same quantity of germs, maybe just from a different pool.

Just wondering... does anyone swear by the preventatives? Like airbourne and stuff?

Me!! Today is day #11, but I'm actually doing very well today and have only coughed twice this morning. Last week I coughed so much, the muscles in my chest and abdomen got really sore.

I hope anyone else that has this creeping crud also is on the mend! Get well soon to all my ill peeps!

In most places, people go to work sick because being sick doesn't mean the rent doesn't have to get paid. I spent MANY days at work sicker than a dog because I couldn't afford to take the time off work.

I get really annoyed at people who get mad at people who come to work sick. If you're going to start a stink about me coming to work sick, then I hope you're going to also pay the bills this month that will go unpaid if I don't go to work.

That being said, if a person DOES have to go to work sick, the very least they can do is take every possible precaution to make sure they do not spread it to their coworkers or customers!

Zicam does shorten the problem. My doctor says that it helps, so I use it. He uses it as a preventive, He stays healthy with all of us sneezing and coughing around him.
Sorry about losing your Grandpa.

Someone was nice enough to give my 4-month-old a cold.

He doesn't go to daycare, so it's not from that. He's all congested and gross. And suctioning his nose out with that bulb syringe makes me want to

. There's got to be a better way!

When I get a cold it is brutal lasts forever.....never fails. Not fees-able to take that much work off.

Yup..its not realistic to tell folks to "just stay home"...
Real life here... people have bills to pay AND most likely can get fired for taking several days off at a time. (which you need to do with a cold/flu)..
So... whats a person to do?
Go to work sick, thats what...

Something else that helps (and I know it sounds gross) but making sure you use the bathroom regularly helps too (and I'm not talking about drinking fluids here
