I can't eat chikcen anymore!!!

I agree clairbean, knowing that they are processed with a loving hand is much better than
what the meat packing plants will do. Maybe that will make the biggest difference.
I am no where ready to process my own birds, I don't even have meat birds right now.

So for now I guess we eat as vegan as possible till we can process our own meat.

It will make us so much more thankful for our meat. Don't know when americans got
to be so distant from their food source. Really sad that most americans don't even recognize
ground beef was once being a living, breathing cow.

Yep, you is nutty as the rest of us. While I can't process my own birds, I will eat backyard-raised chicken. And I've always tried to avoid store-bought eggs.

When I am out of eggs I do not buy from the store I just wait for more.My hens are molting so I get very few. I went vegan a week ago so I don't need much anyway.

Well, it is good to know that I am not alone or at least that I have company.
One day I may process my own birds but for now I cannot eat the chicken that
is at the stores because I know that their care is bad and cruel. And as for eggs
I would rather go without then buy eggs that the abused battery hens lay.
I just cannot support the companies that treat their birds so bad.

So funny, none of this bothered me even a few months ago. Till I had my own
birds.

We once had this little pig called Bacon... Really!
I stopped eating chicken and battery eggs two years ago for the same reasons you listed, Roy Rooster. I do miss eating chicken, but I can't eat it. Just can't. Won't touch battery eggs. Too cruel.

I'll eat processed chicken, home-grown chicken, grocery eggs, farm eggs.....

No seriously! I'm good on all counts!

Thanks everyone, I do feel better knowing that there are those out there who
think like me. I cannot buy battery eggs or store chicken anymore and don't
feel so bad. I do feel better taking a stand against the cruelty of the battery hens
and processed chicken. Thanksgiving may be a little different this year because
I refuse to buy a Butterball Turkey. I am sure that their treatment is as bad or worse
than the chicken processing plant.

Thanks BYCers

My father had a pet chicken and he's never been able to eat chicken since. I went full vegetarian about 20 years ago. There are plenty of us who can't eat chickens because we know how smart and emotional they are. Congratulations on your compassionate heart!
