I'm in Petaluma too. What type of chicks do you have? If I had seen this earlier I would of responded but I just picked up six. Went from 4 to 10. Go figure chicken mat. And what feed store is expecting silkies?

Really?! Yay someone close by!!!!! LOL. I've got 4 Polish Xs( i think 2 boys and 2 girls) and 1 Cochin X Silkie (pretty sure it's a boy...)

As for silkies... IDK if i want to give away my sources... hehehe. Rivertown is supposed to be getting them in on the 13th, at least that's what they said a couple weeks ago when I begged them to let me see the incoming chick list that they hide now...

Wow wish I knew sooner. Sorry. But really glad to hear someone is in Petaluma, aka Chicken Capitol. Does Rivertown have some kind of secret society for the chosen few? They told me last week when I picked up a couple of ameracauna's they werent getting anymore in. Hmmm. Wish I knew sooner on that one too. I just expanded my coop to commodate(?) the other 6 I bought and have to expand the run now. My husband now just shakes his head when I come home with more. By any chance are you off of Corona? You can PM me.

i know! I'm actually surprised I've never run into anyone else from Petaluma since we are so heavily chicken populated, which is what my problem is I think for finding homes... with everyone being able to order off hatchery websites, and then having 4 feed stores that carry chicks all summer, too many chicks to be able to find mine homes! I had a lot better luck with min that hatched in april, before all the chicks started coming in...

I am surprised at how many people are giving away chickens in my neck of the woods. Of course, most of them are cockerels! But I am actually picking up 8 free chicks today from a Cochin breeder; they are mutts and he doesn't want them (half Bantam Cochin, half White Leghorn). He also asked me if I wanted 2 Laced Cochin cockerels...ha!
