i can't figure out how to cut the neck bone

i'm wondering if i just need a better knife? is there a way to get in there and slice the neck bone off? i understand how to take the feet off at the knees, but for some reason i can't figure where to put the knife in to cut the neck bone off.

I normally get as close as I can with hatchet, then when I bring bird in to clean up and finish getting ready for freezer, I use a good sharp knife and carve it out.

I use pruning shears!!! You push them as far down between the breast halves as you can and cut!

I use kitchen shears. And there is also poultry shears which would work.

it takes some practice, but the bone is almost 'U' shaped, you have to work your knife in there and its protected by a lot of cartilage, I used to have trouble doing it, now its simple.
