I can't imagine living in the North....

I am looking forward to a brief visit to the Keys at the end of January.
Right now, our furnace is out! Can't get anyone here til after noon.
It is 5F outside..........

I've lived in MI where we didn't see the sun for weeks thanks to Lake effect snow, at least here in Ma the sun comes out most days. But right about Feb I will be sick to death of it and be dreaming of anything below the Mason Dixon.
There is a storm headed for us right now depending on which station you watch we are either getting 3ft of snow this weekend or.......NOTHING! Its New England If you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes it'll change.

Lilcrow I now what you are saying but have you looked at the lot of senators here in NY. And Gov. Paterson I cant even begin with him because it would be a two page rant. But living in the north isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Yea you go from a heated house to a heated car............ but in the Souths summer you do the ac house to the ac car to the ac mall or the ac job. It is all relative. I love having 4 defined seasons here in New York.
As I type this they are predicting a blizzard for the southern tier of NY... LOL

You and I think quite a bit alike, likcrow. Even the chickens do worse in the heat than they do in the cold! Although when the ground is frozen solid they can scratch around, and I'm sure it's frozen solid now, it's 5.8° this morning. Oh well, the other thing about the cold is you can't complain about it if you live here - well, if you do, I'll tell you to move if you don't like it

. It snows here in the winter, it's cold, deal with it

Purr, you're going to get more snow than we are up here in Hanson - I hope they're wrong, we need a snow blanket now that it's so cold, to keep my plants tucked in!

I'm in the hills of Worcester County...the snow belt of Massachusetts! It's always a nice break when Southern Mass gets the snow for a change!

Waiting to see where the snow line ends up this time. (And another storm possible for Christmas night?!)
I love the snow, and I love the four seasons of New England. I think I will love it even more though when I retire and don't have to drive in the snow if I don't want to! I don't get why northerners want to move south when they retire...THAT'S the perfect time to live here and sit back and watch the snow fall with a roaring fire and a cup of tea!
